Beclomethasone

Beclomethasone is a synthetic corticosteroid possessing potent anti-inflammatory activity. When inhaled, it works directly in the lungs to reduce swelling and irritation of the airways, making breathing easier. It is a controller medication used to prevent asthma attacks and must be used regularly to be effective. It does not relieve acute asthma attacks.

Dosage by Body Weight

Dosage is highly individualized and based on age, severity of condition, and response to therapy. Inhalation: Typically 40 to 80 mcg twice daily for adults. Nasal: 1 to 2 sprays in each nostril twice daily. Rinse mouth thoroughly with water without swallowing after each inhalation to prevent oral thrush.
